State Regent Melodie Brunt with the Texas State Officers attended the 2019 State and Territorial Officers Conference hosted by the National Catholic Daughters of the Americas on July 18-21, 2019. This conference was held at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The National Board hosts the conference biennially to offer training and guidance for State and Territorial Court Officers from across the nation as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands. During the three-day conference, members of the National Board review power point presentations on the Circle of Love program, provide instruction on Court Development, Parliamentary procedures, and local court officer training. The weekend was packed with many opportunities for spiritual growth which included Mary’s Way of the Cross – Praying the Stations of the Cross through the eyes of Mary; Sunrise Prayer Services; daily Mass and a Prayer Labyrinth.
Awards were presented at this conference for the 2019 National Education, Newsletter, and website contest. Graduate, Campus Court and JCDA/Youth Scholarships were also awarded. Texas students received 2 of the Graduate scholarships, one Campus Court Scholarship, and one JCDA/Youth scholarship. Other awards were presented to several other courts for various contests.
