Habitat for Humanity House 2010
In partnership with Colorado County Habitat for Humanity, Texas CDA will build a house at 711 East A Street in Eagle Lake for Linda and Martin Sanchez and their granddaughter Samantha.
Ground Blessing
Join us at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday October 2nd as we raise our voices in song, asking God’s grace upon this house as well as the Sanchez and CDA families. Then stay and help us raise the walls.
Construction Schedule
Beginning in October, we will work on Fridays and Saturdays through mid-December. Work Hours: Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (On Friday, we will begin the day at 8:00 a.m. Children’s Mass at St. Anthony’s in Columbus.) Click to view the Proposed Schedule
Volunteers
Twenty (20) volunteers will be needed each shift. Construction skills and/or experience are not required. Just an eagerness to join your sister CDA’s in this project. You can register as a group or as an individual. To sign-up to work, you can download the Volunteer Information and Waiver Form or contact Nika Saenz at 936-321-0588. Do you have a youth group that would like to volunteer? Please contact Nika Saenz to discuss youth guidelines. Youth will need to fill out the Minor Waiver Volunteer Form.
Other Volunteer Ops
- Snacks, beverages and a noon meal will be needed each work day for approximately 30 – 35. Contact Carolyn Gertson at 979-532-2971 to sign-up to provide refreshments for the workers.
- We will celebrate the beginning of the project with a Ground Blessing on October 2, 2010 and the completion of the project with a House Dedication in March/April 2011. If you are interesting in helping with the events, contact Suzanne Sykowski at 979-234-3447
- Photographers will be needed to document the events and the construction progress. If you are interesting in contributing your photography skills, contact Lorrie Walla at 979-733-0655.

To volunteer on the job site for any job, you will need to complete the Volunteer Information and Waiver Form. Print and complete the form and bring with you to the work site
Donations
Each court is asked to donate $100.00 for the project. Donation checks, made payable to CDA State Court of Texas, may be sent to:

Gift-in-Kind Donations of materials and labor may be offered to help defray the cash commitment of CDA. Items and services needed are listed on the Specifications Sheet. T-Shirt Order Form
The order form for 2010 Texas CDA Builds t-shirts is available here . The shirt cost is $10.00 each with proceeds going toward construction expenses. Print and complete the form. Return the form with payment to CDA State Court of Texas, P.O. Box 1148, Columbus, Texas. 78934 Please add “HFH T-shirt” in the memo line.
